I am living a few different lives:

1. **Personal life** (normal person)
2. **Professional life** (cyber intern)
3. **Education life** (student)

Each of these lives exists rather independently, but there is one common factor among them: AI.

I use AI in all 3 of my lives, and in this post we're going to talk about the use cases for each, how I feel about the different AI "worlds" I'm living in, and if things are really as bad as people say they are with AI.

## Personal life

I have a lot of goals in my personal AI usage, but a lot of my projects are a WIP. Here are some things that have worked for me thus far:

* Daniel Miessler's PAI
* A data / pattern analyzer for my journals (i.e. what have I been doing well the past few months, what have I been falling behind on)
* Projects

### How do I want to grow?

* Have AI be a critic of my work.
* Analyze content: what is working, what is not, and then ask questions for me to come up with a solution moving forward.
* Not rely on AI so much for projects. The vibe code syndrome is a real thing.

## Professional life

This covers all my work experience, not just my current role.

* Very outdated
* Simple chatbot
* Has its use cases for analyzing a bunch of data that I can't be asked to do, but most of the time it is typically a Google search I want more context on

### How do I want to grow?

* Pushing for adoption of agent-based LLMs, but I recognize the bureaucracy and politics of the workplace will ensure that movement never happens.
* From a work perspective though, I don't mind not having access to the best AI tools. It ensures I am staying sharp and that I am working through problems with coworkers instead of coLLMs.

## Educational life

I've touched on this in a few videos in the past, but the more I use AI, the more I try to add intentional friction to my workflows.

* I used it a lot when AI first came out, testing its limits for learning.
* As I get closer to graduation and I do more writing, I am using it less and less, as I realize how important writing is to the expression of ideas and learning.

### How do I want to grow?

So how can I use it for education, ensuring that I am still having a decent amount of friction so I learn things?

* **Use it for consumption, but not generation.**
* That means consuming the "busywork" (reading the chapter, parsing the worksheet, etc.) but not having it touch the output of my work.
